Osoyoos twins Liam and Markus Ruck are set to wear captaincy letters at the first all-WHL event in 26 years.

The Medicine Hat Tigers forwards have been named alternate captains for the Eastern Conference at the WHL Prospects Game, set for Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Langley Events Centre.

Players selected to play in the game — which pits the league’s conferences against each other — are the best WHL talent eligible for the 2026 NHL draft, as identified by Central Scouting and NHL clubs.

While Liam is ranked No. 26 among North American skaters on Central Scouting’s midterm ranking ahead of this June’s draft, Markus is pegged at No. 31.

The twins, selected by Medicine Hat in the 2023 WHL Draft, will turn 18 years of age on Feb. 21.

This season, both Liam and Markus have 72 points in 51 contests.

The prospects game is set to serve as the first all-WHL event since Kelowna hosted league all-star festivities in 2000.
