Members of the BC Lions football team are cheerleaders for energy conservation.

Footballers Patrice Rene and Sean Whyte helped students at Kelowna’s North Glenmore Elementary join the movement with the team’s Energy Champions Program.

Students were tested on their knowledge of saving energy on a daily basis, such as turning off the lights, taking shorter showers, and putting on a sweater instead of turning up the heat. The 45-minute presentation included games, knowledge tests, and prizes.

Energy Champions were also made at Watson Road Elementary, Raymer Elementary, and the Sensisyusten House of Learning during the BC Lions’ visit to the Central Okanagan Feb. 18 and 19.
