Morning car fire in downtown Kelowna not suspicious

A car fire that happened in downtown Kelowna is deemed as not suspicious after response by the Kelowna Fire Department.

At around 9 a.m. this morning, Feb. 22, the Kelowna Fire Department received calls regarding a car on fire in the 500-block of Bernard Ave.

Around this time, a column of black smoke could be seen in the downtown area.

Upon arriving to the scene, first-responders found the car was fully engulfed in flames.

The two occupants of the car were able to get out of the vehicle safely, and there were no injuries reported during the incident.

The Kelowna Fire Department said the vehicle is a “complete loss ” and that the fire is not being considered suspicious.
