Six Kelowna Rockets had two-point nights as the team won its sixth game in a row, 5-1 over the Wenatchee Wild at Prospera Place on Friday, Feb. 27.

Captain Carson Wetsch scored twice, Tij Iginla and Rowan Guest each collected two assists and Mazden Leslie, Connor Pankratz, and Nate Corbet each scored a goal and added an helper en route to the win.

After being down 1-0 in the first, Westch and Leslie scored before the end of the frame to take the lead and never look back.

Corbet’s third of the season came in the second period while Westch’s second of the contest and Pankratz’s seventh came 35 seconds apart in the third.

Harrison Boettiger made 25 saves in the win for the Rockets.

It was a feisty affair as well as the two teams combined for 48 penalty minutes.

The Kelowna Rockets have now won six games in a row and are 8-2-0-0 over their last 10 games.

The team still sits fourth in the Western Conference with a record of 33-18-5-2, one behind behind Prince George but with a game in hand.

Kelowna and Wenatchee will meet again on Saturday night, Feb. 28 to complete the home-and-home weekend series down in Wenatchee. Puck drop is at 6 p.m.
