Vernon Fire Rescue extinguished a small blaze at My Place Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters could be seen on the ledge of the supportive housing apartment above the entrance around 3:30 p.m. March 5.

They also used a chainsaw to cut something from the exterior ledge.

My Place was not evacuated and the fire appeared to be only on the outside of the building.

My Place is located at the corner of 35th Street and 27th Avenue and is the first of several large BC Housing complexes managed by Turning Points Collaborative Society.
