Canada continues to rock in wheelchair curling at the Milano Cortina Paralympics in Italy.
Spallumcheen’s Ina Forrest is throwing second stones for Canada, which improved to 4-0 Monday, March 9, with an 11-1 romp over Latvia in its only scheduled action for the day.
Canada, skipped by Mark Ideson of London, Ont., won both of its games Sunday, March 9, beating Great Britain 5-4 in the morning matchup before forcing handshakes with Norway in a 9-2 evening romp that included potentially the shot of the Paralympics from Canada’s Jon Thurston of Dunsford, Ont. China is the only other undefeated team at 3-0- while Sweden lost 7-1 to the U.S. for its first loss in four games.
Tuesday will be a day the Canadians have been looking forward to, as they face defending champion China which has won three of the last four world titles.
Then it is another powerhouse in Sweden, top-five finishers at the last four worlds, and defending Games silver medallists.
