The community of Wilden in Kelowna is celebrating 20 years on Sunday, July 16.

On July 16, 2003 a couple signed a contract to purchase the first single-family lot in Wilden.

The Lommer family still lives in the house.

“Our house is going to be 20 years old this summer”, said Donna Lommer, “and anyone who comes by for the first time, they all say, ‘What a great place! What a beautiful area it is’, and we agree.”

Community members are planning a birthday celebration at the Wilden Presentation Centre.

The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. The history of Wilden will be on display, people can enjoy live music and family activities, and snacks and refreshments will be served.
