As harvest comes to a close Food-It-Forward Okanagan is asking local farms and orchards to be mindful of food waste.

The organization is looking for donations of end-of-season produce to help feed families in need.

In a note to Capital News, Food-It-Forward wrote, “We believe that by coming together, we can address food waste issues and improve the well-being of our community.”

The group will take all fruits and vegetables that are safe for consumption but may not meet commercial standards.
