Trail closures in Kelowna's Mission Creek Regional Park

The closures take place July 3-4

There are temporary trail closures in Mission Creek Regional Park July 3-4 for fish habitat and flood prevention work. While work is underway on the service road bridge crossing, closures will require visitors accessing the Soopollalie Trail and the Sutherland Hills Trail to use alternate trail routes.

Visitors are to adhere to construction signage, flagging and worker direction. During construction hours construction equipment and vehicles will use the service road from Hall Road. There will also be increased traffic along KLO and Hall roads. Visitors are asked to use alternate entrances for parking and trail access.

The work is preparation for the construction of ‘riffles’ (rock landforms) which will help improve fish habitat and act as natural flood protection during high water events in Mission Creek. The work is part of the Mill Creek Flood Protection project.
