UPDATE: Minor shed fire doused quickly off Highway 97 in West Kelowna

UPDATE 9:05 a.m.

The West Kelowna Fire Department confirmed to Capital News that fire on Thursday night was a minor shed fire.

Crews doused the blaze quickly and no one was injured. The fire also didn’t damage any surrounding areas.

The cause of the blaze is unknown. It occurred in the 2500 block on Main Street in West Kelowna.

A large fire was spotted in West Kelowna on Thursday night (June 29).

Details are scarce right now but Facebook user Mike Williamson states the blaze was near Buckerfield’s country store, close to Highway 97. It’s unknown how the fire started.

The West Kelowna Fire Department has not commented on the blaze yet.
