After an aggressive incident broke out at Kelowna General Hospital early Tuesday morning, Interior Health is confirming one person was injured by a small metal object.

According to the health authority, police were called to the hospital at about 3:15 a.m. in response to a Code White, or an aggressive incident, involving two people.

A security guard also attended the scene and sustained an injury from a small metal object, but was subsequently discharged.

“We cannot speak to additional details about the incident, but we take any incidents of aggression seriously and recognize they impact all patients and staff who are involved or witness them,” said IH.

Kelowna RCMP and Paladin Security are not currently commenting on the incident.
