Okanagan Connector down to 1 lane westbound, multiple weather alerts in affect

The Okanagan Connector is down to one lane westbound on Tuesday morning.

A vehicle recovery in the process between Loon Lake Road and Aspen Grove (32 kilometres east of Merritt), causing the highway to reduce to one lane.

Additionally, a freezing rain warning is in affect for the Connector. Driving conditions may become slippery and icy but as the day goes on, the freezing rain is expected to transition to rain.

Environment Canada also has a snowfall warning in affect for Highway 1 from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass and a special weather statement on the Coquihalla from Hope to Merritt.

This stretch of Highway 1 is expected 10-20 centimetres of snow throughout Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, the Coquihalla is expected 60-80 centimetres of rain, which increases the risk of flooding and landslides.
