2 motorcycles hit, including RCMP bike on Highway 97 in Central Okanagan

UPDATE: 12:20 p.m.

There are reports a second motorcycle has been hit, this time in West Kelowna.

The incident closed Highway 97 between Hudson Road and Westside Road in both directions at about noon.

The highway was only closed for a short time and has since reopened.

Earlier Sunday morning, an RCMP officer on a motorbike was hit by another vehicle on Highway 97 in Kelowna causing significant delays in the downtown area.

The Ride for Dad was taking place in Kelowna and involved several motorbikes travelling along Highway 97 on Sunday.

Drive BC has reported a vehicle incident, northbound on Pandosy Street on Sunday.

A right turn lane has been blocked due to the incident.

Currently, the HOV lane has been closed from Bertram to Abbott Street, from a police presence.

The bridge is still open, although there are heavy delays.
